For over a hundred years, Mack Truck engines have ruled America's truck engine manufacturing market. In 1890, Jack Mack accepted a carriage building job in Brooklyn, New York. It was a company of Fallesen and Berry. Soon, Gus, the younger brother of Jack, joined him and eventually purchased the company. After one year of getting into the truck manufacturing business, their third brother, William, also joined in.
With three brothers working together at the helm, they transitioned from building carriages to wagon construction. Along with wagon construction, they also shifted their focus on new steam and electrically powered motors. The three brothers got their first break with Prospect Park, a tourism company in Brooklyn. The tourism company contacted Mack and placed an order to design, build, and manufacture a tourism company vehicle entirely by Mack. This meant the engines and everything else; Mack built the sightseeing bus. And this is the first bus that bears the name "Mack."
The tourism company was pleased with the bus and thus ordered a second. The second bus was ordered in 1901. Mack Truck became an established company, and since then, the company has never looked back. By 1902, the Mack Brothers company was established. Right from the company's inception, Mack started building Mack engines. They focused on heavy-duty engines, which could be run both off-highway and on-highway.

Intake - Through the opening in the valves, air will be drawn inside the cylinder, and the piston will start to move downwards.
Compression- After that, the inlet valves will shut down, and then the piston will start moving upwards. This whole process will compress the air mixture and will begin to heat it up. Via the central fuel injection valve, the fuel will be injected into the hot gas and then ignite. Unlike gas engines, diesel engines don't require any sparkling plug.
Power- When the fuel mixture and air will start to burn and ignite, it will eventually push down the piston. This will drive the crankshaft to send power to the wheels.
Exhaust- All the steps mentioned above will open one of the outlet valve ends, which will let out the exhaust gases and return the piston.
